After this long and difficult period, we're looking forward to welcom you again at the cellar. Also we’re planning several tastings in France and foreign. In the meantime, we have some news for you:

A particular season ends

The spring frost has left its mark. We lost a lot of buds, especially in the highest plots at La Roche Vineuse, Vergisson and Davayé.
This historical phenomenon has considerably delayed the vegetative cycle. Following this event, the late June hail hit the Saint Véran and our parcel of Pouilly-Fuissé located in Fuissé.

Finally, the heavy rainfall during the summer led to the development of diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew. Once again, if we need to prove it again, our cultivation practices, such as late pruning, folding chopsticks after freezing and candle-laying in the Clos de France in Vergisson, have saved many plots.
This 2021 campaign reminds us that despite all the means used to combat extreme climatic hazards, Nature remains the strongest.

New label

From the 2020 vintage, we change the labels of all our blends: Bourgogne blanc et rouge, Mâcon La Roche Vineuse, Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé and Moulin à Vent.For a more harmonious look, we keep the band format of this new label. The rose window with the design of the old village of La Roche Vineuse is the new symbol. This his new dressing celebrates Saint-Sorlin, the oldest district and former name of our commune, the historic cradle of Chardonnay.

Harvest 2021 : the 35th

The rainy weather of the summer of 2021 accentuates the urgency of harvesting to preserve the quantity and the state of health. We start on the 16th of September in Chaintré where we are looking forward to satisfactory yields. On the 22th of September, we harvest the plots in Davayé and Vergisson. Yields here are low to medium. From September 25th, we return to La Roche Vineuse, and as expected, yields are unfortunately very low for the Chardonnays. Fortunately, our Pinots Noirs offer a reasonable yield. Our Moulin-à-Vent will be harvested at the end. We finish this 35th harvest on the 30th of September.
Despite these harsh weather conditions, we estimate the volume of this 2021 vintage to be about half of a normal harvest. To date, fermentation is underway and we can already assure you that the juices have beautiful aromatic profiles.

Thanks to the good previous harvests and long aging, we are able to satisfy you by offering you different vintages of 2018, 2019 and soon 2020.
